👉 Penang Rojak is essentially a fruit based rojak. It is very different from the popular Central Region style of rojak. The Penang fruit rojak is used to accompany a meal or a stand-alone dessert. It is basically a more exciting way to eat fruit! Similar to other popular Penang hawker fares, it is hard to copy from other regions. It is made primarily from shrimp paste and Penang has the best shrimp paste due to abundance of seafood.
🤤🍍🥭🥒Traditionally, Penang Rojak comes with Jambu Air (Water Guava), Sengkuang (Jicama), Pineapples, Cucumber, Unripe Mango (green mango), Dried Tofu (Tauhu Bakar style), Cuttlefish and Prawn Crackers. Crushed peanut powder is then sprinkled sparingly over the mixture.
👨🍳Our Penang Rojak Sauce is made in Penang by one of the top Rojak Seller, often denominated by the numbers on their hawker store. *Want to know who? Drop us a message and we might just share with you.* With this really popular rojak sauce, you can easily recreate the taste of Penang Rojak at home.
The beauty of our sauce is not about how it taste on its own, but how well it taste when combined with fruits. It is strong but will not overpower the fruit flavor. It actually helps to enhance the fruit flavor. You may have difficulty finding fruits like Jambu Air or green mango, but feel free to replace it with other fruits. The normal Guava (Jambu Batu) works equally fine. Apart from making rojak, you can also use the sauce as a sauce dip for fruits. For a start, you can try with apple. You will be surprised by the result!
How to Use (±380g):
Add as a sauce topping for Fruits, Kangkung, Cuttlefish etc. You can choose to eat by mixing with all the fruits first or use as a dip. Garnish with the grounded peanuts provided.
